Boating

There’s a boat ramp just off Gold Lake Road. Boating is restricted to small boats with a small or no motor. So set your sail or get out the paddles.

The Lakes Basin Recreational area has dozens of streams and over 20 small lakes. It’s a treasure trove of fish just waiting to take your bait.

Gold Panning

There’s a good reason why Sierra County’s history is rich with gold fever! Try your own luck or check out the nearby Kentucky Mine Historic Park.

Golf

Northern California golf courses are some of the most scenic courses you’ll ever play. And some are just a short drive from Bassett’s.

Hiking

A hike to the top of the Sierra Buttes should be on every seasoned hikers list. The stunning view from the fire lookout tower is one you’ll never forget.

Horseback Riding

Take the scenic route around Gold Lake. There are horse trails and trailhead parking in multiple locations. Don’t forget your boots!
