Bassetts Station is located in the heart of the majestic Tahoe National Forest, at the base of the stunning Sierra Buttes, and at the gateway to the beautiful Gold Lakes Basin Recreational area. Highway 49 is designated a scenic byway, making it a road less traveled. The stretch of the Highway where Bassetts is located runs parallel to Interstate 80, to the north, along the north fork of the Yuba River. Defying all stereotypes and somehow escaping development, this portion of California is not crowded. Free of malls, shopping centers, and stoplights, it's the true jewel of the Sierras.
